The sight of herds of ponies, peacefully grazing the rugged slopes and sheltered valleys of Dartmoor, is something that has delighted for generations. Throug the centuries, ponies have played an invaluable role in the history and welfare of the moor… And it is a special relationship that continues today.
This film follows the Life of the Dartmoor Hill Pony through the changing seasons. Including all the fun of the Widecombe Fair, to the excitement of the Devon County Shwo, the dramatric datherinf of the annual Pony Drift, through to the harsh Dartmoor winter, the springtime frolics of the newly born foals, including the one in a million ‘miracle twins’ Gorse and Granite. We find out just why the Dartmoor Hill Pony makes the perfect children’s friend and as an ideal driving team.
