Alan Tibbitts made a short promotional video clip to promote the excellent facilities provided by Plymouth College attracting the likes of Lithuanian swimming super star Ruta Meilutyte. She and her colleagues were filmed receiving swimming coaching and were interviewed speaking in their native tongue to assist promoting the school in Lithuania.
PLYMOUTH schoolgirl Ruta Meilutyte claimed a second gold medal at the Youth Olympics in Nanjing.
Two days after winning the 50m breaststroke event in China, the 17-year-old won the 100m race – her specialty.
Meilutyte had already won the senior Olympic and World Championship titles over that distance and is also the world record holder.
Ruta Meilutyte clocked 1:05.39, which was much quicker than the time that won Wednesday’s European Championship title.
Plymouth star Meilutyte will now dash to Berlin to try and add the European 50m crown to her collection.
