HALF A CENTURY...and COUNTING, THIRD WORLD LIVE AT JAZZ CAFE LONDON JULY 2023
Nine times Grammy nominated band Third World, arguably the finest reggae outfit on the planet, returned to the scene of their first international foray in London having opened there for Bob Marley on his UK shows almost fifty years ago. Midway through a European tour in July, founder member and virtuoso guitarist/cellist Stephen “Cat” Coore, lead singer AJ Brown and their longest serving drummer Tony “Ruption” Williams took time out in Camden Town for a wide ranging reasoning with English writer Stephen Thorpe– recalling that nascent era in London, the band’s subsequent evolution, coping with a relentless life on the road, a second appearance at Glastonbury after forty years and plans for a follow up album to the recent More Work To Be Done produced by Damien Marley.
